Relationships Are Important, but So Are You
What I have been learning about self-love while loving another
Ever since I moved in with my fiancé, my life has become a wild roller coaster ride. This isn’t the first time I have lived together with a lady, but the first one that I’ve gotten so far in the relationship that we’re engaged. Despite my deep love for her, things have not been easy.
A great example was yesterday. She and I went shopping for a vacuum and some other minor grocery items. During our shopping adventure, I had assumed that she didn’t want the first vacuum, and I tried to put it back after she had taken a second vacuum voucher from the rack. This action caused her to calmly blow up at me for trying to handle things without talking.
This isn’t to say that her frustration isn’t warranted, because I have often just gone and done things without talking it out first. (Guys, please take note, this may help you in your own or future relationship.)
Losing Myself
In my deep desire to focus on her happiness, I have been losing focus on myself. This loss of focus on myself has taken me away from my own goals, such as:
